Car smelled of smoke. Was filthy inside. The car made an unsettling engine noise while driving. I would not rent from Hertz again as a result of this. I was also promised a $7 discount when I changed reservations and that never posted. I saved maybe $17 by going with Hertz instead of my regular rental company and it was not worth it. I will be sure to recommend against using Hertz to my professional peers at least in the Kalamazoo area.

This place is simply terrible. If I could leave a zero, I would. I needed a rental due to my vehicle being repaired from an unexpected accident. We were told we needed to go here because they dealt with our insurance. Never again! My husband tried to book it online and by the time we got to this location, they didn’t have the vehicle we booked. We were told we needed to cancel our online reservation and rebook it at the store. Then because my husband booked it yet I would be driving the vehicle it was going to be extra money, yet we are on the same insurance. The manager was rude and not really willing to help us. The vehicle I received smelled terrible and the windows were so dirty I cleaned them myself when I got home so I could see out of them. This hertz location is filthy, windows in the front of the store broken, the desk area filthy. The manager never got out of his chair to show me the vehicle, and even when we brought it back he took the keys and said your all set without even offering us a receipt. We are not ever going to use hertz again if it’s needed. Terrible service!!

Their site will allow you to make a car reservation when they have zero cars available. As a matter of fact, when I showed up to pick up the car and told they had no cars, I called around to all the other locations in town and they also had no available cars. I had to cancel my trip last minute. Their reservations are worthless. 0/10 would not recommend.

It’s funny because despite all the terrible reviews, nothing is changing. We walked in and were told we had to call customer service ourselves to change the payment which is ridiculous. We were given a number and then that number was incorrect. Given another number and we sat on hold for over 45 minutes. Stephen the manager didn’t seem to care. Why could he not change it on his end? Why didn’t he have the right number? This is so confusing I can’t even. He said they do not give them any rights with a prepaid reservation. Horrible customer service.
