Durant High School

Durant Independent School district is a great place for a kid to go to school. Until they reach the high school. They should have spent less money on the school and more on the infrastructure. It is like the teachers/administration quit caring. Worked their as a sub once, I had to send a kid to the office because they refused to participate in class. Later found out that the kid sat in the office until the next period and then just got sent to his next class. No repercussions. Teachers were friendly to me, but they cared more about getting the day over with then they did the kids.nnThey need to learn from the rest of the school system. In my experience subbing for Durant, ISD has been an excellent experience. I would suggest looking into one of the other local school districts if your child is going to high school.

Okay school. Lots of friendly people. Debate program is a bust tho
