Payless Car Rental

Had to cancel the car rental that I booked. Orbitz gave me no problems but the customer service phone number given to me by University Airport gave me a very unprofessional representative. I called to make sure all the information was recieved properly before my pickup time. She told me that I had no reservation which was a huge red flag. I called Orbitz to make sure my reservation existed, considering 72 bucks was taken from my card. Luckily my reservation was there and I was told to call Payless back and give them the information again. The same representative picked up and put me on hold like she did the first time I called. I told her that I was calling back to reconfirm the reservation I put in. She put me on hold again. At this point I could tell she didnt want to help me with my issue but I stayed on hold nonetheless. Eventually, she picked up but then it went silent. I waited about 15-20 minutes until I realized she hung up on me. I called back and she picked up and hung up on me again. After that, she just ignored my calls. Getting a car booked is very urgent and now, I know not to book a rental with this company. Especially if every customer service representative treats customers this way. I made the calls between 6pm and 7pm on Thursday December 19 2019 so, whatever manager may see this, I hope that narrows down whatever careless employee who needs to be fired and branded as being untrustworthy to do work in customer service for any business. I only hope that my money gets returned to my card within 24 hours or else that one employee is going to cost the company alot. I dont make a lot of money. I live in an expensive town and pay child support and I'm relying on this awful paycheck to rent me a car so I can do some christmas shopping for my son. I will make sure I get my money back and then some.

It was a fast service. I wish they are more accurate when indicating where the car is. The “just walk down and find the number” is not enough.

As a debit card-only owner, I was so happy to discover Payless did not make a big deal out of debit card payments. Even though we had to take a Uber to the airport every time, it was worth it. Until recently. Their policy changed, and I as a local (i.e. not being able to provide a return flight ticket) am not eligible to rent a car any longer. After four or so completely unscratched and non-stolen rentals.

The car was very low mileage. Staff at check in was very friendly. Staff at check out not so much. Disliked being charged for one hour on return of the car since the car was returned within one hour of the original rental time
