Hertz Car Rental

Reserved an intermediate car at Stewart. Apparently this is an offsite location now which has crushed the usually good Hertz service I've become accustomed to. When I arrived I received the keys to a clapped out Ford Fiesta which has to be a compact car usually reserved for Shriner's conventions. The car had 40k miles on it and it rode like it. Additionally it wasn't clean as it had garbage from the previous renters in it, the windows were dirty and a previous renter had chain smoked in it and it reeked of cigarette smoke. I was only in town for 24 hours and didn't have time to go to Poughkeepsie to fix the issue, but as a long time Hertz Gold member I shouldn't have to...

Hertz may have filed bankruptcy, but they are working even harder to get your business. I went online looking for a great rate for a 1-way from NY to Fla. Alamo/Enterprise confirmed a rate but I had to pick up at SWF. after much trouble, I get to the airport only to be told, “yeah, sorry we only rent to people arriving by plane so we won’t honor that rate.” So Alamo/Enterprise is dead to me! They SUCK! Defeated, I get home, still scanning online for a good rate. I see one for Hertz, so I call. Not only did they match the online rate, they beat it! And I got a fabulous, comfortable impala! And YOU should call Hertz and ask for CHANTAL! She is THE BEST!!

Wish I can leave 0 stars. I will never in life rent a car from this location or better yet this company again! Place is a complete scam! Daily rate is $42 a day had the car for 4 days in total they charged my card $600 still disputing it.

Employees were knowledgeable and there willingness to assist was A1!

I would definitely recommend this rental agency over its competitor next door simply because these guys are much friendlier and were more helpful than Avis. These guys turned a bad day into good. Thank you !
