Avis Car Rental

Appearance and cleanliness of the car was great. Pick up was really easy and I was given clear information. Dropping off I had to return the keys to the front desk which I didn't like. In the past, instead of dropping off I just leave them with the car after its parked, and they send me the receipt in an email.

Wow! Wow! Wow! The team at the Portland Airport are amazing!nn1) They had my car ready on time without issuen2) They read my profile and had my PREFERRED car readyn3) They recognized my president’s club statusn4) They gave me a car close to the exit so I wouldn’t have to walk farn5) They welcomed me to Portland and were able to give me directions with easennBut most of all - they were kind, courteous, and helped me remain confident in their safety procedures. I have rented from (many) other Avis locations - this is now one of my top 3 favorites (I don’t throw this compliment out lightly!!!)

Scammed into the highest rate of vehicles protection per/day. Should have read the fine print before signing

I’ve been using Avis for awhile. But was given a car that was much less than what I booked and rented. It definitely was NOT an “Elite” SUV, and not equivalent to a Ford Explorer; and I was charged an extra day for being 2 hours late. I will be using another rental company moving forward.

Absolute TERRIBLE customer service. Do not go through Avis/ Budget rental car service in Portland ME airport.... they never say anything about a $250 hold on your card. Than when you say you’ll do cash money they say no. I asked to use my friends card and I can’t do that unless we change the whole reservation which was bundled through Expedia... than when I said I’ll just take my money back, he proceeds to tell me I’ll have to call corporate. Absolute JOKE! I asked for a supervisor for further options and get told he is the “shift lead” and he can’t do anything more. Would not recommend. Don’t go here, you’ll waste your money.
