Will NEVER go back to this Avis both me and my father called and spoke with the representative at this location multiple times and told him we will be putting the down payment on a debit card and he said that was fine. Once we got into the location I gave him the debit card he said it’s not going through, and I told him I had the money to pay, and the guy said it has nothing to do with money it has to do with your credit score. I told him that makes no sense and we were never told about a credit score requirement while using a debit card. The guy swears up and down that he did when in reality I asked him 1. Can we use a debit card 2. I will pay the actual rental fee with a different debit card is that okay; to which he replied that’s fine both over the phone and in person. Not ONCE did he mention a credit check because if he did we would have NEVER wasted our time with him. And when you call the customer service line to complain they tell you they don’t take complaints over the phone it has to be online which absolutely ridiculous. I will never use or recommend avid to anyone ever they are liars and scam artists.

Check in was smooth and got upgraded to a nicer car easily for less than $20/day. However upon returning the car I was told I could trade in a few hours after the date on my contract and be charged a pro-rated amount which would be less than the cost of one additional day (as I only needed the car for a few more hours). After driving to the store to return the car, I was then told I would be charged for an entire day regardless if I kept the car for an additional 3 of 24 hours. Therefore I wasted time coming into the store but kept the car for an extra 1 day. I returned the car the next morning after filling up a full tank of gas and never got a call to confirm receipt of the car check in (I made arrangements to drop the car before store opening). I called the store later in the day and was then informed that I was charged an extra $25 to apparently fill the car up to full. Overall the customer service could have been better and I would have appreciated more consistency and transparency in messaging and rental terms throughout the duration of my rental.
