Avis Car Rental

Horrible from start to finish. Didn’t have Tahoe I reserved 5-6 weeks in advance & I wasn’t contacted beforehand & the only vehicle options they had to offer instead of Tahoe were either too small & didn’t provide the space we needed or insanely huge & awful. So we got stuck with a huge White Chevy Industrial Econoline Van...basically a church bus ud83dude8c. Tried to check out with my van & of course the price/total is wrong & not matching my reservation total...shocker. 2nd attempt at check out....total is still wrong but only higher by $20.00 and he can’t figure out why so he says he will adjust it off upon return. Ready for round 2...the return. Place is packed & only 1 guy working counter & 1 guy cleaning vehicles...geez. Anyway, guy goes out & looks at van for damage etc & comes back & tells me we had a cat in vehicle & they are gonna charge me detail fee. We did not have cat in vehicle but my parents we visited have 2 dogs so hair could have transferred from our bags to carpet. I thought he said detail fee was $50.00 & I was prepared to pay a reasonable fee just to be done with Avis so I said okay. He runs my card & I go to sign & the detail fee is $250.00!!!!...for a couple of hairs & some of which were my own hairs. What a freaking scam & joke this place is. After it was all said & done he removed the fee & I walked out of there only paying $20.00 more than my original quoted price/reservation. Guess he couldn’t figure out how to adjust that off like he said he would but whatever. I will never use them again and hope this saves someone some headache in the future. Oh...and if Avis sees this & wants to verify...my name/reservation was under Theresa Corder...my Gmail still has my married name. [email protected]

Reservation made 3 months ago. No vehicles available at time of pick up! How the heck does that even happen?

Unsafe and Unprofessional and Worst Service.nnWe rented a mini van with Safety Car seat for a drive to Chicago. They did not have the Safety Car seat and we were offered a booster seat. Avis, please note that Booster seat is not for all the kids and could be a serious safety issue. Eventually we had to drive to the Louisville Airport to get the safety car seat, no one from Avis apologized or cared much.nnThe car was returned on the due date, but the Avis people at Chicago did not update the return...so Avis called us about not returning the van....what type of service is this.nnAvis.....you care all about your van, not the safety of the kid. And also, please make sure the van has been returned before calling the customer.nnAvis....safety must be/should be more important than your van by all means.nnParents, please make sure they have the appropriate car seat.

Helpful staff. They have lots of cars.
