We purchased a used van for my elderly father. The van had a current inspection sticker on it. The salesman said the vans are thoroughly checked in Rochester and sent to their lot in Syracuse. On the test drive, the check engine light was on, there was a thudding sound in the tires, and the driver's side window did not work. There was also food on the floor and back seat (an old bagel). I brought it to the attention of the salesman, who said he would address the issues. When I picked up the van after the purchase, it reeked of gasoline and the sales person said it was just a gasket and to have it checked by my own mechanic and they would pay for it. On my father's first ride, the van bottomed out. I took it to my mechanic, who pointed out a rusted, frozen hydraulic chain protruding down. He said this was scraping the ground. He also found issues with bushings (or tie rod?), and said there was a great deal of rust that had been painted over. There were other issues as well. The bagel was still on the floor. The mechanic said the gas tank should have been replaced but the dealer would only pay to repair the part that was leaking at the moment. I will never purchase another vehicle from this dealer nor will I recommend them to anyone.
The staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Questions are answered clearly and quickly. Repairs are completed in a timely manner. I highly recommend AutoCrafting to anyone with mobility transportation needs.
We purchased a 2014 Sienna van and had it modified by VMI with a roll-out ramp. The Sienna is a beautiful vehicle of course but there were and still are a couple unresolved issues:n- we ordered the rugged, rubberized flooring but the van was delivered with carpeting which soils easily, especially in wintern- the sliding door regularly begins to close before the ramp has retracted and so bumps into the ramp. It then re-opens until the ramp retracts before closing and locking. It appears to be a programming/timing problem. We returned to have a ''new circuit'' installed once, which took several months to be delivered but, the problem is still present.nI'd like to rate AutoCrafting 5-star but cannot until all issues are completely resolved.
Bought a used van from these guys 6 months ago. It has greatly enhanced my quality of life. Money well spent !!
I love working with the guys at the Syracuse dealership of AutoCrafting Mobility,I have been a customer of theirs since Dave Carnes was hired in service there.I met Dave when I first was looking to buy a ramp lift for my van to get my power chair and me transported and also being able to modify my driving ability back in 1995.He has always done right by me when I was struggling with mobility needs.The management staff has addressed all my mobility needs in a vehicle.The office is easy to find on Erie Blvd.,friendly approachable sales department.Haven't gone anywhere else for my mobility needs since they came to Syracuse.When ever I've had questions or concerns when buying they were knowledgeable and had possible solutions to my needs.Have recommended them to all that approach me,and of course to all my friends and familyThank you for taking such good care of my mobility needs..Debbie Kane
