Dollar Car Rental

Customer service is terrible. They toldnUs we would save more with AAA membership before we rented. I bought membership for AAA and then made reservation, only to find out that no discounts can apply to prepaid reservations. Their customer service told me I could cancel the prepaid reservation and redo it, apply the discount. However, doing this wouldnCost significantly more so it made no sense. They gave terrible advice and didn’t care. Upon picknUp, the vehicle stunk of cigarette and smoke. When we returned the vehicle I mentioned it to the hertz counter worker and she was dismissive, saying “a ton of them do, nothing we can do.”nnI recommend you pay more for a different company. Terrible overall.

Rented from this company twice, once in November and once in January. Staff at Rochester airport were nice. They suggested i get an ezpass for tolls as they charge 15 extra dollars per toll, and it would be cheaper in the long run to pay for the ezpass. I did. The rental went as planned with no problems. However, in February I received a bill for toll fees. I called them and told them i paid for the ezpass. They told me they didnt have copies of my rental agreement, and i would have to provide the proof. They refused to give me an email to send the proof to, and the customer service associate was rude as hell. I called Hertz (who owns dollar rental) and was told there was nothing they could do from their side. Now, 2 months later, they have charged my card without my authorization. I am currently awaiting contact back from dollar. If i am satisfied with the outcome I will update my review and possibly give a different rating. If they do not refund me the charges, i will contest them through the bank, and leave this review as a warning to others to heed this and the other warning on here about tolls. I was hoping when i read the other review it was a one time clerical error.nnupdate: attempted to call dollar and hertz today. even though i was within business hours, nobody would answer the phone. I called my bank and they informed me they had a signature authorizing the charges, even though i have not signed anything. They have frozen my card, and listed it as a stolen card, and made a report of fraudulent signatures coming through. my next step will be reporting them to the BBB. If the issue remains unresolved after that, I will contact an attorney, as well as attempting to make contact with the others that have had issues, and i will attempt to start a class

I tried to use Dollar for a business rental for one of my employees. There was a technical issue on the website so I called their customer service. The person I spoke to was not helpful at all and told me I needed to do this through the website. When I told him of the problem he just said he didnt know, maybe try later. Not helpful when you have an employee stuck with no vehicle and your trying to get something taken care of. Ill move on from these guys.

The worst customer service. 3 people before me were also upset. 2hr waiting for car pickup and the guard at the exit was so unprofessional and rude.

The car rental was ok and went as planned. Weeks after the rental I receive a bill for tolls. I specifically got the EZ pass from Dollar as I knew I would be driving through many tolls. I am now being told that they cannot provide a written bill or receipt for the charges accrued and that they will just be billing my card. Very unhappy. Who does business like this?
