Budget Car Rental

RENTERS BEWARE!!!! We were given an SUV that was dirty, had a huge chip on windshield and a ripped seat pocket. Was told their shop garage doors were frozen shut and would not open for vehicle to be properly cleaned and ready for us. Two days after we have the SUV it would not start, I called the XEE from Budget and since it was -28 below that day she informed us to call the Emergency Roadside Assistance number. I specifically asked XEE if I would be charged for this call and she said “No, it is something mechanical and I would not have to pay for it.” I call Roadside Assistance and they send our a Towing Service and they NEVER once mentioned I would be charged for this either! We had the SUV for 4 weeks, we turn it back in thinking we are done with the rental and any charges. SURPRISE, 4 days after turning it back in we have a charge of $218.00 on our bank account! I reached out to XEE and she said we have to call Budget 1-800 Customer Service number, and she for the SECOND time tells me we should not be charged for the Emergency Roadside Assistance since it was mechanical issue. I called and was told basically tough luck you did not take out any extras when you completed your reservation to cover the cost of the service. I then call XEE back and at this point I am so upset and could feel my blood pressure rising, XEE tells me she emailed her Manager to see what he can do so I call back 2 days after this to follow up and XEE tells me now they are looking at the vehicle to see if there was any mechanical issues and she will be sure to call me back, WOW!!! The whole issue here is you have a Representative, XEE, that is telling Customers you will not be charged for that if it was a mechanical issue which is false information and Budget will not take care of the Customer!! She also told me she has been working with Budget for 5 years now, I can only imagine how many others who went thru this. WE WANT OUR $218.00 BACK!!

Put in reservation about a month in advance and all was good. 2 days out from my rental date I get a confirmation email with all my details (which was fine) but shortly thereafter, another email was sent which said it was canceled. Of course the confirmation and cancelation emails look almost identical.. no one called or anything. Incredibly disappointed with Budget Rental and how they treat their customers and military veterans.

Ordered premium sedan week prior but didn't have one upon pickup. Was given SUV as replacement.

Great service, convenient, and good price. Would definitely rent from them again.
