Budget Car Rental

Everything was fine until I was charged for my rental car. I was told my amount due at pick up was $380, when I looked after returning my car the charge on my card was $553. I added $55 dollars for toll coverage which was fine, but I had to call in order to find out that I was charged an extra $25 a day because I was 24 not 25 or older. I wouldn’t have even had a problem with this if they would have been up front, I had to enter my birthday when I reserved the car and NOWHERE did it mention this extra charge. The company obviously knew my date of birth because I needed to enter it to reserve the car in the first place and they hid the additional fee. I would not use Budget again simply because I don’t trust there won’t be more hidden fees the only reason I gave two stars is because the vehicle was nice and the customer service was adequate.

Dropped to a 2 for trying to rip me off charge me 9.99 a gallon for fuel saying it was 1.2 gallons from full. I filled it up about 2 miles away and clicked 3 times to make sure it was full. It was showing 16.9 MPG no way it burned 1,2 gallons getting there. Gauge shows past full so was returned the same way I received. We won't even talk about all the other BS charges tacked on but this is a straight up rip off. Shame to the van ran great for the 1400 miles I drove it and would have gotten 5 stars. Got a manager to say will credit me the fuel costs yup charged me 17.99 and refunded me 11.99. should have known better than them being able to do math. No matter will go somewhere else to spend my money.

I booked a package deal that included my rental car, but it was only an economy size. With the winter weather hitting on Illinois the Budget rental representative offered me a small SUV upgrade for $5 a day. What an amazing help that was. I felt blessed that Budget cared about my safety. I highly recommend Budget.

The staff communicated instructions well. It was very much a seamless transition. Friendly customer service was provided.

Counter personal helpful, easy to get to car, car insurance was expensive, upon returning lot was not marked well and when asking a lot person he was not polite with his response as to where to park,other wise rental went smoothly
