I dropped off a one way rental here after hours (7 PM). Followed the instructions exactly, filled out the envelope, dropped my keys in the box. They didn't check the car in, and so I spent the next 2 weeks fighting with Budget about it and getting huge charges reversed on my credit card. I called this location daily during this time. Never once did someone answer the phone, and though I left a message every day they never called me back. It was easily the worst rental experience I've ever had. Never again. EDIT: I want to add that I did email them per the request below, because I’m a fair-minded person. They did not reply.

0 stars. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION. FINAL UPDATE: finally, after 15 days (!!), hundreds of phone calls, dozens of emails, and countless trips to four different locations, my account is closed. All I can say after this experience is that Budget isn’t worth the effort. Thankfully my credit card company has my back and they were able to block/reverse any excessive charges, because Budget is holding firm saying the $2300 charges already put on my card were valid. What they fail to tell you when you rent a one-way rental is that no one will be able to close it for you except the location you rented it from at the beginning. But the original location won’t take your word that you’ve dropped it off - they have to speak to the employee who has the keys. So if you return your car through the drop box, all they’ll do is verify they have the keys...IF you can get ahold of all parties at the same time. Either way, it’s YOUR responsibility to call/visit all locations involved, and if no one answers the phone/is at the location during business hours, Budget has the right to claim your car hasn’t been returned and take any action they choose from there. Customer Service doesn’t care if no one answers the phone or is at the physical locations. It feels like a scam all around. Original review: Honestly, I wish I had read the reviews for this location before renting my car. I returned a one-way rental on Tuesday, an hour and a half before the scheduled return time. No one was at the counter, which seems to be a common issue. I parked my car in the car rental spots and dropped the keys into the drop box. It’s now Saturday and my credit card has been charged over $2000 for a late return. I’ve called the location several times with no answer. I’ve called customer service and the man there said he would get everything corrected. I woke up this morning to an email saying my account was still open and they needed more information from me that I have already given them over the phone. Still no number to talk to an actual person who works at that location, and still no one manning the desk when I go in during posted business hours. I don’t recommend Budget, especially this location. Edit: I returned to the location during business hours AGAIN. Still no one there. I called the number posted - no answer, voicemail box full. Sent a text to the number asking when I could return to speak to someone in person. No response. Called Budget customer service again...no help there. They want information I can’t provide because I don’t have the car in my possession. Will continue to update. Update: it’s Sunday. Business hours say 7:30-4:00. I showed up at 9:30, and no one was there. I received another email last night saying the charges on my card were valid because the car has not been checked in. I tried to speak to a supervisor but they just keep transferring me to other representatives who can’t help. Wednesday Update: I have now been to three locations in Utah Valley during their posted business hours and have not found a single Budget agent. I’ve called and emailed customer service, and still the car is not checked in. I received an automated call today informing me that my car is 8 days late and that I need to return the vehicle and provide a new credit card to the nearest Budget location. I called the number from the automated message, and it goes to the call center. Still no luck reaching a manager or supervisor. Everyone I’ve spoken to has admitted to not being in the United States and can’t seem to transfer me to anyone who is. The number they provide for the Corporate Office is not a working number.

0 stars. all i did was return a one way rental here and they screwed it up. it's been almost 2 weeks since i returned the car and they still haven't checked it in. they don't answer their customer service line and don't return messages. Budget customer service also gets 0 stars. they tried to charge me $2500 for the late return (2 days after i returned it) without contacting me. fortunately my credit card company notified me and i stopped the charge. my 5 conversations with them trying to resolve this have gone nowhere. don't rent from Budget, and don't have anything to do with the Provo airport location especially.

I was scheduled for 2 rental car pickups at 5:00. We got there at 4:30 to make sure we didn’t miss them before they were supposed to close at 5. Nobody was there. The airport counter worker told us that nobody had ever come into work that day for Budget. I tried calling the number listed on the close sign multiple times and no answer. After being on hold with corporate customer service for over half an hour, they finally told me I was out of luck and needed to go through a competitor. If I could put zero stars for this location, I would. Horrible service.

I have rented from the Provo Airport Budget location 3 different times. Always had a vehicle ready. Never over charged, and by far less expensive than Hertz. I waited in line about 10 min. which was totally understandable as there were 2 in front of me. The cars I’ve rented have always been full, clean and ready to go. I would highly recommend them. Though I have never had any problems with this location, or others that I’ve been to through the country, they are humans, and we all make mistakes. Sad but I feel some of the poor reviews are a bit exaggerated. Also note that the poor reviews were over a year ago, so they obviously have made a lot of changes. There were plenty of cars, 2 people at the counter and great customer service!
