Fox Rent A Car San Antonio

I went in on a Saturday to pick up a vehicle I had rented online.  The staff guy looked like he was asleep so I spoke loudly to get his attention.  We go to inspect the vehicle and noticed a dent on the front passenger side.  We were told the vehicle was ok so we drove home about 40 miles.  On the drive I noticed a vibration in the front passenger side and could also feel it in the steering wheel. I was not comfortable driving the vehicle out of Texas. I called the Fox number to let them know I was not comfortable with the vehicle and was gonna bring it back for an exchange.  I was on hold from 8:34 to 10:25pm.  That is when I got disconnected.  Sunday morning I was there at 7:45am to exchange only to be told that they only rent the vehicles to go tonStates surrounding Texas.  The manager said it is in the fine print and I told him I should have been told verbally or it needs to be in bigger print.  I was also charged an early return fee of $120.00 plus one day use plus taxes for a defective vehicle. He said it was the best he could do. I had no problem paying for one day, but it is not my fault I was given a vehicle that had issues.

I am giving this rating a 3 because the car got us to where we needed to go and back again. The staff was friendly as well. As for the car... it had a huge dent in the drivers door as as if the car had side swiped something. Numerous dents that we were told was hail damage, the weather stripping inside the drivers door was falling off and in order to shut the door we had to hold it out of the way. The grab handles on both the drivers side and passengers side were hanging off. There were so many issues the girl didnt even list everything on the paper when we checked the car out and seemed unconcerned. We took the car only because we had paid and had somewhere we needed to be. This is the first time leaving a review.nThe car had 53,000 miles on it, odd for a rental to have that many miles. Not sure if i would rent from FOX again.

Really slow customer service. It was a 7 person queue and it took me 1.5 hours to rent a car that I had already paid for online.nnAdditionally, car is really dirty, sticky, and with scratches. Rate 2 stars due to the cheap price

Had rude customer service at pick-up, was very unfriendly both at counter and checking out of the rental. Could not extend my rental online when I could not return the vehicle due to bad weather. Tried calling several times and had a 30 minutes hold time. The call would get disconnected at 15 minutes everytime I called. I sent messages online as well with no response with my phone number. You can imagine my frustration getting stuck in San Antonio due to bad weather and then dealing with this. I had no power to keep my phone charged to call half the week or check my email but still attempted to get in touch with someone from your company. All hwys were closed in San Antonio so there was no way to return the car. Also the Airport was shutdown several days as well. I was still charged 8 days extra and late fees. I attempted to call to speak with someone when I returned the car and ran into the same issue of not getting in touch with anyone. Sent two more emails and was generous to wait a week for a response and got nothing back. Oh but wait I got a text for a survey and an email...go figure!! I just honestly wish you would of worked with the individuals that got stranded in Texas due to the weather. I was fine paying for the 8 days at the same rate as the two weeks I had the car. You should not charge late fees when it is out of the person's control. I didn't receive a call the entire week and I definitely couldn't get in touch with anybody to extend the rental.

Friendly staff, but made several errors. Had our address, phone number and credit card number wrong. We were supposed to get a Toyota Camry or similar and we got a Ford Fusion Hybrid.nIt wasn’t the greatest car but it was OK. We specifically said we did not want additional insurance but they added it on anyway. Trunk was dirty with sand from previous renter, a paper face mask was under the front car seat.nTire pressure alarm went off twice in 5 days, we had to add air to a tire both times. Returning the car went smoothly, no issues. After we got home, I called three different numbers before getting someone to deal with the insurance issue. I waited an hour and 15 minutes on hold to talk to someone. The person was polite and helpful, he removed the charges for insurance $112. Not using Fox again.
