Thrifty Car Rental

Let me start by saying I've had countless excellent experiences renting a car from all the other rental companies. Unfortunately, our experience with Thrifty was a nightmare.nnAfter waiting almost an hour in line while I tried to soothe our crying 19 month old child, the customer service representative fraudulently placed a Loss Damage Waiver on the car. After reading the other reviews, that’s part of their scam. They keep you waiting in line so that you’re too stressed out to notice they pulled a fast one on you.nnWhen we got the receipt by email and realized what had happened, we tried calling but no one picked up even after several attempts over several days. The voicemail box was also full. Without getting in the details of how much trouble I had to go through to finally find someone to discuss our problem, we were told that the only way was to go to one of their locations and have it removed in person. We were told by three different people that this was the only way.nnThe branch was 18 miles away, but we decided to make the trip since it was so expensive. When we get there... surprise, surprise... they told us they couldn't remove it. They're total scam artists. DO NOT RENT from this location or ANY Thrifty/Hertz rental location. Completely put a damper on our trip to finally visit our family after not seeing them for over a year due to the pandemic. What kind of people take advantage of a young family in a stressful situation?

Took 1.5 hours to get the SUV we payed for to get a compact car that doesn’t fit our luggage because they ran out of vehicles. Wouldn’t even compromise price. Have to go back in morning to try to get the SUV. Horrible. And to exit the parking ramp took over 20 minutes. Lack of staff, lack of vehicles. Don’t go here.

Great customer service. Truly thrifty. Good downtown location so no airport hassle. Clean compact. The $200 cash hold on Debit was manageable- a courtesy and a security measure realized for the Debit crowd. Wish I’d known sooner.

I visited with Chris about my reservation I booked through Priceline. He was very professional and courteous and helped me resolve my issue.nnIf you need to rent a car in the Peachtree/ATL area, I highly recommend them!
