We reserved a car and when we got there we saw someone driving off with it! Avis just let them go. Then they eventually gave us a new car that hadn’t been cleaned. When we got in the car a light came on to “change oil soon.” After seeing this we noticed that the oil hadn’t been changed in over 10,000 miles. We quickly called Avis this who refused to do anything about it. So we drove to a Jiffy Lube and had to do it ourselves so that we wouldn’t break down.

These people have a bad attitude. I will never rent a car from this Avis again. The Avis in Sacramento, CA 16th street were very nice and helpful, but these people here are terrible. No shuttle service??

Had my Blazer detailed here and asked them to remove the water spots. It came out looking like new!!

UPDATE: I sent them an email as they suggested in their response to this review. They did not even respond to the email they asked me to send. This place is a perfect example of why car dealerships have a reputation of being shady and dishonest. We bought a used Dodge Grand Caravan from them, and I understand buying used can be a gamble, but Avis has no problem lying to your face about what you're getting. First of all, as they were making their offer they included a $500 fee for the "shadowmark" theft etching and we told them we were not interested and would move forward as long as they would take that off. The salesman said it's optional and they would take it off, he had also worked there for several years so this was not just a newbie misunderstanding. We got our credit checked, did the pile of paperwork and spent an hour+, and at the end when processing the payment the $500 fee was showing back up. Long story kind of short, after they brought in three different staff members to back each other up and some arguing we were informed it was not optional and they were not going to sell it to us without the shadowmark. This was infuriating because the offer we agreed on was not what they closed on in the end. Second, we were told the car had a second key fob, but since it was near closing time it was kept somewhere locked and we needed to come back the next day to pick it up. We came back and were told that the car did not in fact have a second key fob, but we could pay to order a new one from them. Third, the sliding door was making a buzzing sound when we put the car in park on our test drive. We asked them about it, and I do not fully remember their explanation, but they assured us a mechanic had inspected it and the reason for the buzz was not at all concerning. Well, the other day that door broke, will not open at all and we have to get our kids in their car seats from one side, and it is apparently around $1000 to fix. Come to find out, this is quite a common issue with these vans and the "telltale buzzing" indicates the door is going to go out soon. I should have researched the buzz instead of taking their word, but I HIGHLY DOUBT they were ignorant to this common problem considering they have a large fleet of Grand Caravans, and I suspect they knew very well that this car was close to breaking down. Like I said, I am kicking myself for not researching it myself, but their dishonesty in these THREE different parts of the transaction is appalling and I will in no way be returning to them and will advise others I know to stay far away as well. Long story short: DON'T GO HERE. If you do MAKE SURE you have a final offer SIGNED BY THEM before going through the credit check and paperwork so they don't pull a bait and switch. Also, MAKE SURE you get ALL promised key fobs BEFORE closing on the car or you may never see them. And DON'T believe their reassurance about any potential problems you see in a used car. They are the epitome of untrustworthy car salesmen.
