Terrible experience. Long time Gold members and have come to expect great customer service from Hertz. Not at this Milwaukee airport location. We were charged for existing damage to the vehicle even though the attendant at checkout said not to worry about it. Customer service line says they can’t help and to contact MKE location.nUpdate: Hertz Gold customer service stepped in after 3 weeks and reversed the damage charges. Great news but still reflects poorly on the MKE location.

Terrible experience. I returned the vehicle using the Hertz process which means I can drop the car off in the return lane with the keys in the car and leave. Hertz must not have processed the return correctly so I received an automated phone call each day saying that I had not yet returned the vehicle. I then called the number they provided each day to get the situation resolved and each time I spoke to a different person at a call center that was not able to resolve the issue. I asked to be redirected directly to the Hertz at the airport and they immediately put me on hold and I never was able to speak to anyone. The situation is still not resolved and I am seriously considering never renting from Hertz again.nnDay 1 - issue not resolvednDay 2 - issue still not resolvednDay 3 - issue still not resolvednDay 4 - issue still not resolved...

My Thrifty rental was fulfilled by associated (owning-company) Hertz. Prepaid for wildcard car, and because I refused to pay for an upgrade three times, I received my choice of any of the three compacts left, the dozens of possible larger vehicles were unavailable to my special offer. No masks worn by desk staff or lot staff.

Do not use this rental company!! Worst out there . They lied to me and had charges on bill that they would not adjust. Car smelled like smoke and was more expensive than the competition I would give them a 0 star rating if possible. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else

I rented a vehicle with Hertz to go to a funeral viewing in Chicago, at the Milwaukee Airport location during the PANDEMIC and the vehicles were not SANITIZED at all. It was fingers prints all over the vehicle and it hadn’t been washed. The windows were so nasty I couldn’t even see. I spoke with a agent in the garage about the vehicle being NASTY and her response was that the vehicles have been sitting for a long period of time and shrugged her shoulders. So I had to take vehicle home before traveling and wipe the entire van down with Clorox wipes and spray it down with Lysol and clean the windows. So I was late picking up my daughter and grandkids from the airport in Chicago. And after all that I returned the vehicle on 05/16 and I’m still being charged because they never closed the contract. I’ve spoken to several agents and they keep saying that they closed it out but I wake up everyday to find another charge on my credit card. I WILL NEVER RENT WITH HERTZ AGAIN!!!!
