Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Our car has many miles on it and we wanted to take a few days away so decided to rent a vehicle. I made my reservation with an agent on the phone and picked up our rental a couple of days later. The car was great, a bit smaller than we're used to but we made out just fine. It was in great condition, got great gas mileage and was reasonably priced; we cannot be happier with our rental and are looking forward to another trip in the near future. Enterprise Rent-a-Car was great to work with and we will definitely use them in the future.

Enterprise needs to update their location listing so you can't select to rent a car from a location closed for COVID. I spent 45 minutes waiting outside in the rain, only to find that the Georgetown, DE location has been closed down for weeks and I was never notified, nor was my reservation updated. They didn't even have a sign posted on the door to say they were closed. It was infuriating to then have to Uber to another Enterprise location because they were shorthanded and unable to send someone to pick me up. Thankfully the alternate location sorted out my reservation and I was able to finally hit the road, albeit almost two hours after I should have been able to.

I wasn’t going to write a review or take this any further but I got a request from Enterprise to write a review so here we are. The day I picked up the car, everything was ok. The car had to get sanitized first bc the manager had taken it to lunch right before and that took a little longer than expected. When we were ready to load up and leave, me and 5 kids, we realized the car had a strong cigarette smoke smell mixed with a deodorizer that obviously didn’t work great. It was over powering and for me, a non smoker plus 5 kids it did give us a headache. The car never aired out even though we attempted to do so throughout the couple of days. The night before turning it in my sister and I and our children took the car to the boardwalk. After parking when we got home, my five year old son said, “Hey, what’s this stick doing in here?” as he handed me a stem and bud of marijuana! I smelled it and it was for sure weed. It was too late to call the company so I waited until the next day when I returned the car to say something.I asked for the manager and ironically it was the same dude who rented me it the previous day and who had taken it to lunch prior to me getting it. I told him what happened, I wasn’t upset or mad at all. After the walk around he informed me that he comped the cost of the rental and told me to have a nice day. I was happy with how he handled the situation, although I know some people would not have been as relaxed about it as I was.

I rented a car at another state and planned to drop it at this location. I called the place asking they pick up the car. They came on Monday as they promised to pick it up. Matt the manager, what a wonderful person. Sorry, for Matt for giving you a hard time asking when the car will be picked up. I am happy customer.
