Cheap Vacation (11/30/2020)

Woman at the counter basically refused to rent any car to me. Used a cyber Monday deal and when I got to the location she said she wouldn’t rent to me because $26 was too cheap and good of a value. I asked if I could change the car to a more expensive car and she refused that. I then asked if I could rent a completely different car on the spot with no discount at all and she said no to that as well. She wouldn’t rent me a car but also wouldn’t hand back my license and credit cardnnWent next door to hertz and got a car in 5 minutes.

There was plenty of social distancing so the process felt safe. I was handed the keys and the car was pointed out. As soon as I sat inside - even with a mask on! - I could smell cigarette smoke. I flagged a staff member and told them. I was asked to step aside and within minutes the car was driven away and a replacement provided. Completely contactless. Super easy and fast.

Great company & prices. The staff is welling to work with you. Cars nice & clean. But there does need to be a way that the customer service line can reach out to each location.

Very poor experience. Did not receive the car I reserved and received no apology or explanation (just “that is the only car we have”). Ok fine, but the car also came 1/8 full, which was not explained to me either until I asked what was going on. Ok, so I can return it 1/8 full right? I did, and was charged an extra $150 for doing so, after I explicitly asked and was told there were no additional charges when I returned the car. I only saw the extra charge after examining the receipt and then had to prove to the employees that I received the car almost empty by showing them a photo of the pink slip I initially received and that they had already thrown away! Again no apologies, just a lack of minimal customer service. This isn’t rocket science guys.

I was overcharged. I only caught it by reviewing the e-receipt (which was different than the final receipt I was given in person). The process of then trying to recoup the fraud charge was a pain. Just a hassle and not worth it, there are other options all over.
